This beautiful Egg Chair was designed by a top architect Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the Danish manufacturer Fritz Hansen.
After Arne Jacobsen designed the entire SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, he was given the opportunity to design the interior and furniture.
The iconic Egg Chair was designed as seating furniture in the lobby and reception areas of the hotel.
The armchair is considered a true work of art.
The flowing soft shapes of the chair make it very attractive and inviting to linger.
The final production model consists of a tub of firm foam & is covered with fabric or leather.
This was exceptional & very innovative in the 50s.
The covering of the tub is still done by hand to this day.
The chair stands on a cross-shaped foot and is also rotatable.
Arne Jacobsen has written history with this chair.
The side chair is really in top condition and has a very luxurious and royal appearance within the interior.
