Very nice early examples of the crossed legged dining room chairs designed by Fabiaan Van Severen in his own studio, Belgium 1998.
The chairs have a gray coated metal tube frame and very thick natural saddle leather seats attached with laces at the back. Very nicely shaped chairs with a beautiful patina.
The natural leather has a beautiful authentic look with a wonderful patina.
The dining room chairs are no longer in production so it is also a real collector's item.
Fabiaan Van Severen was born in 1957 in Belgium. He graduated as a painter but took the path of furniture designer and interior architecture.
The choice of materials is very decisive in his designs. He is always looking for materials that are as pure as possible and speak for themselves.
One of his highly acclaimed interior designs is the Fort Napoleon in Ostend, which was converted into a museum. Works by Van Severen have already been awarded the Henri van de Velde Prize and the East Flemish Design Award.
