The Casiers stand was part of a home furniture project by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1925. Here, the Jeanneret cousins went beyond the traditional furniture concept and introduced these modular storage units, in addition to a number of other movable pieces.
With their timeless, unique features, these combinable modular cabinets are able to architecturally organize any room, hold any object, and arrange themselves in any space, to create an authentically decorated wall.
The 1925 Casiers were adapted by Charlotte Pierrand
in 1978 for Cassina, and so Cassina started the first production of the rare LC 20 Le Casier case. Later in 2016, the cabinets were revised by Cassina.
This is a first generation of Cassina from the late 1970s. Consisting of 4 champagne pink wooden elements, 1 element with original storage units with 3 central iconic and typical Le Corbusier tube elements as a base. The cabinet must be mounted against the wall.
Very handy to use due to its height, and therefore ideal as a bookcase or storage wall unit.
The wall unit is from the first owner and is in very good condition. Very rare piece and rarely for sale on the market.
