One of the most beautiful designer chairs ever designed. And a personal WOW favorite.
This set of elegant and playful three-legged chairs designed by Katavolos, Kelley and Littell seems almost too delicate to sit in. But in fact, these simple chairs are very strong and of enormous quality.
Especially when you know that these were made in the 1960s, and will easily last another two generations.
This set was provided with new natural leather, so they have a long life ahead of them and they only become more beautiful over the years.
The natural leather will patina beautifully over the years.
The saddle leather is connected to the frame at three points, which only creates a floating seat. The chairs are round and sculptural and have beautiful details in both the seat and legs.
In 1952, William Katavolos, Douglas Kelley and Ross Littell, graduates of the Pratt Institute in New York, began a six-year collaboration in textile, tableware and furniture design at Laverne, which was founded in 1938. One of their most popular designs was the T chair. The chair is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
