None other than Pastoe manufactured the beautiful piece of furniture for Dutch designer Cees Braakman in the late 1950s.
This sideboard is made of teak and has a black lacquered metal frame and is in exceptionally beautiful condition.
And you won't find it in this condition quickly! RECOMMENDED
In 1948 Cees Braakman (1917-1995) follows in his father's footsteps as manager and designer. During a study trip through the United States, he became acquainted with Charles & Ray Eames' pioneering bended plywood furniture. You can clearly see this in the beautiful detail inside the drawers.
The teak version was awarded a silver medal at the 11th Triennale in Milan in 1957. The same year also followed the crowning with Le Signe d'Or in Belgium.
Braakman remained head of the UMS PasToe design department until 1978 and is without doubt one of the most influential Dutch designers.
