This wall unit with bar is a unique piece designed by the legendary Belgian architect and designer Lucien Engels for Woning van den Eynde in Vilvoorde in 1951.
Lucien Engels (1928-2015) was one of the most influential Belgian architects. He studied architecture at "La Cambre" in Brussels and came into contact with the "Modern Movement".
He was taught by Louis-Herman De Koninck and Willy Van der Meeren, among others.
After graduating, Engels collaborated with another giant of Belgian architecture, Roger De Winter, together they designed several homes in Vilvoorde, including the Van den Eynde house, for which this cabinet was specially designed.
The cabinet was made in collaboration with Jean Batenburg's studio EMY and exudes pure craftsmanship.
