This is a first generation and also the largest version in the most sought-after rosewood.
Florence Knoll described her designs as the fill-in pieces in design projects. "I needed the piece for a job and it wasn't there, so I designed it." While this may have been the motivation for the 1961 Table Desk, the elegant, perfectly proportioned result will be anything but a filler piece in your office or dining room.
Like so many of her groundbreaking designs that became the gold standard for the industry, the 1961 executive collection found its way into the pantheon of modern classics. Understated and cool, austere and angular, Florence Knoll's designs reflect the objective perfectionism of the early 1960s.
The table has a beautiful rosewood top and is one of the early editions, with a brand label at the bottom of the table.
Florence Knoll passed away on January 25, 2019.
