A Dutch family business founded in 1965 in Amsterdam by the Posthuma brothers. Peter (Sales Director) and Jules (purchasing and marketing), Archi and Rob (production)
The name 'Gepo' comes from a combination of 'Poshuma brothers'.
The two brothers started their business with approximately €35 in capital (borrowed from their mother). In 1972 the company achieved a turnover of no less than €1 million.
Gepo mainly specialized in designs of floor, wall, table and arc lamps with the typical Space Age design. The brand often used chrome parts finished with transparent drilled plexiglass suspensions (typical for the Gepo brand).
Little else is known about Gepo, but one thing is certain. The well-known lamps are one by one beautiful, elegant and timeless top design pieces.
Gepo NV ended its activities sometime in the early 1980s.
