After Arne Jacobsen designed the entire SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, he was given the opportunity to design the interior and furniture.
The iconic Egg Chair was designed as seating furniture in the hotel's lobby and reception areas.

The armchair is considered a true work of art.
The flowing soft shapes of the chair make it very attractive and inviting to stay in.
The final production model consists of a shell made of sturdy foam & is covered with fabric or leather.
This was exceptional & very innovative in the 1950s.
To this day, the tub is still covered by hand.
The chair stands on a cross-shaped base and is also rotatable.
