The Quasar lamp has a characteristic spherical construction, made of plexiglass and steel. The design is characterized by white perspex elements that enclose elegantly placed tubes and gold-plated metal balls. White, tinted plexiglass domes rest on a sleek, square metal base, which gives the design a distinctly modern and futuristic character.

Initially manufactured by Stilnovo in Italy, the Quasar lamp was later also offered under license by Pierre Cardin in France, through his "Espaces Cardin" in Paris. This collaboration probably originated during an Italian design exhibition in Paris in 1970, organized by the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), where Cardin first discovered the lamp.

The Quasar is considered a rare and highly sought-after collector's item. Original copies with the authentic "Stilnovo" label are considered very valuable. In 1970, the lamp appeared in the French magazine La Maison Française and today it is recognized as a true icon of the Space Age era.

The lamp has the original Stilnovo label and is, considering its age, in exceptionally good condition.
