WOW, what a topper!
Joe Colombo designed the Model 4801 chair from three curved pieces of bent plywood. Colombo's innovative idea was to design an armchair that could simply slide together without screws or fasteners.
This design required two years of development prior to production.
The 4801 lounge chairs were only produced in 1963-1964, so a limited number of the 4801 chairs were produced.
This chair still has its original paint which is a beautiful orange with a great patina.
Stamped with the serial number.
