One of the most beautiful design chairs ever designed.
Designed by Katavolos, Kelley and Littell, this set of elegant and playful three-legged chairs seems almost too delicate to sit in. But in fact, these sober chairs are very strong and of enormous quality.
Especially when you know that these were made in the 60s, and will easily last another generation.
This set is still completely original and comes from the first owner who bought it in the 1960s.
Exceptional find in this condition.
The original saddle leather is connected to the frame at three points, creating only a floating seat. The chairs are round and sculptural and have beautiful details in both seat and legs.
In 1952, William Katavolos, Douglas Kelley, and Ross Littell, graduates of New York's Pratt Institute, began a six-year partnership designing textiles, tableware, and furniture at Laverne, which was founded in 1938. One of their most popular designs was the T chair. The chair is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
